What is kinesiology? (Not to be confused with physiotherapy)
Kinesiology is a discipline that emerged in the 1960s following experiments conducted by a group of healthcare professionals. These experts, from various fields (chiropractic, osteopathy, acupressure), observed that when they considered the individual holistically – on mental, emotional, structural, and physiological levels – their interventions were more stable, profound, and lasting.
They have thus created a bridge between Western and Eastern medicine by integrating into their practice an innovative tool: muscle testing , a biofeedback mechanism that allows them to assess and rebalance the body's energy imbalances.
In kinesiology, the human being is represented by a triangle with three equal sides: the psyche (or mind), the physiology (the internal functioning of the body), and the anatomical structure (the skeleton, muscles, and points of support). This triangle symbolizes the fundamental balance of the being.
For energy to flow harmoniously within the body, these three dimensions must remain in balance. If one side weakens or becomes tense, the triangle is distorted—and with it, our overall equilibrium. Energy can then leak or become blocked, causing stress, pain, or profound discomfort.
Traditional approaches often tend to focus on only one aspect: relieving a physical symptom, calming a restless mind, or supporting a struggling organ. But if the other sides of the triangle aren't readjusted accordingly, this can shift the imbalance rather than resolve it.
Kinesiology offers a different approach: the body itself, through muscle testing, indicates which aspect needs to be rebalanced first. Thus, instead of forcing a solution from the outside, the triangular shape is restored from within, respecting the body's inherent intelligence. Each correction aims to re-establish overall coherence, so that the individual can regain their full vitality and autonomy.
This process activates a person's potential and stimulates their innate self-healing capacity. In this approach, psychology, vitality, and creativity become key indicators of health, going beyond the mere absence of disease.
An approach with multiple benefits
Thanks to the use of muscle testing, kinesiology has helped many people in various fields:
- Managing food intolerances
- Improvement of academic performance
- Optimizing high-level athletic abilities
- Developing focus, initiative, and mental clarity
A complementarity with traditional medicine
Kinesiology does not replace traditional medicine, but enriches it with a different and complementary perspective . It provides an energetic and holistic approach that allows for a better understanding of how the body functions and maintains its balance.
